Glastonbury weekend weather latest: The forecast for this week’s festival

If you’re one of the lucky ones who’ve bagged a ticket for Glastonbury 2022, your wait is over.

The iconic music festival kicked off on Wednesday, June 22, and will run until Sunday, June 26.

This year’s festival is set to potentially be rowdier than ever, after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

Headliners include Billie Eilish, Paul McCartney, and Kendrick Lamar, as well as many other acts spread across the festival’s multiple other stages.

Here’s a run-down of what the weather is expected to be like during the festival, per the Met Office.

Weather for Glastonbury 2022

The weather in Glastonbury will be “one of two halves”, meteorologist Tom Morgan from the Met Office told the PA news agency.

The first couple of days are expected to be sunny and warm with high UV levels. But by Friday, festival-goers will experience rain and cooler temperatures.

  • Wednesday 22 June will reportedly be mostly sunny, with temperatures of up to 27 degrees.
  • Thursday 23 June is forcasted to be cloudy all day with temperatures of up to 25 degrees.
  • Friday 24 June will be cloudy with light showers and temperatures of up to 19 degrees.
  • Saturday 25 June is forecasted to be cloudy with sunny intervals, and temperatures of up to 17 degrees.
  • Sunday 26 June is expected to see a couple of rainy showers, with temperatures coming up to 18 degrees.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has warned Glastonbury attendees to take care this week, saying: “Hot weather is forecast over the next couple of days. Remember to drink plenty of water throughout the day and pack sun cream and a sunhat.”
