Glastonbury tickets 2020: How to register for next year's festival

With amazing performances from the likes of Stormzy and Billie Eilish – not to mention the glorious weather the UK experienced over the weekend – those of us who weren’t lucky enough to get tickets to this year’s Glastonbury festival are feeling a teeny bit jealous.

But, as anyone who’s tried to attend the legendary festival will know, getting tickets is quite literally something of a lottery.

While picking up a ticket is never guaranteed, below are all the details for giving it your best shot.

Next year is sure to be a big one, too, 2020 being the 50th anniversary, meaning it's more likely than ever to be oversubscribed.

What are the dates for Glastonbury 2020?

The exact dates aren't confirmed until around October, but Glastonbury is usually held at the end of June, and around the summer solstice.

While it's best to keep an eye out for any official announcements – their Twitter account is a good place to start – June 26-28 has been mooted, since the solstice will come on June 20.

When do Glastonbury 2020 tickets go on sale?

Again, exact dates haven't been released, but tickets tend to go on sale towards the beginning of October, with the resale happening in April.

Expect a proper announcement after this year's festival has wrapped up.

How to get tickets for Glastonbury festival 2020

If you want to be in with a chance of getting tickets, register your details on the website by autumn at the latest.

The tickets then go on sale a few weeks later, and it's often a mad scramble to get them when they are released – to stand the best chance, you'll need to be up and at your computer before the tickets are released, which tends to be around 9am.

Coach ticket packages tend go on sale a couple of days beforehand and are usually released in the evening.

When and how do I register for Glastonbury 2020?

To register, you will have to upload a passport-style photo of yourself and then enter your basic details – name, age and the like.

The official Glastonbury website is the only place you can buy valid tickets, and registering is a must as this is how organisers combat touting. Our advice is to do it as early as possible.

How much will tickets cost?

The price usually sits around £250. Tickets for this year's festival cost £248, with a £5 booking fee.

Who is on the Glastonbury 2020 line-up?

There's no word on line-up for Glastonbury 2020 yet, and we won't know for some time. The final line-up usually comes out around March.

That said, Fleetwood Mac and Sir Paul McCartney have both been heavily rumoured, with Michael Eavis himself dropping hints.
