Glastonbury Festival Map 2022: Site size, capacity, how to get around

Thousands of music fans are heading to Glastonbury Festival for the first time since 2019. The gates to the Pilton have officially opened, and the 50-year-anniversary celebrations can commence.

Glastonbury Festival’s founder Michael Eavis, 86, and his daughter Emily, 42, were at one of the site’s entry points ready to greet attendees, telling them: “This is going to be the best show in town. Wait and see. You better believe it.”

Headliners include Billie Eilish, Paul McCartney, Megan Thee Stallion, and Sam Fender, plus countless other exciting acts.

But with dozens of performance spaces and multiple campsites spread across distinct festival areas, knowing how to get around Glastonbury is crucial.

How big is Glastonbury Festival?

The Somerset festival is sure to be attended by long-time fans as well as newbies—who will make up Glastonbury’s massive 210,000-person crowd.

The festival takes place over 900 acres of land–featuring seven main stages plus more than 70 performance spaces–so getting around Glastonbury may seem daunting, especially for first-timers.

Fortunately, Glastonbury has released a map of the site, so festival-goers can familiarise themselves with their surroundings ahead of time.

The map highlights all the main stages and performance spaces plus all the campsites.

It marks where festival-goers can find essential services like ATMs, water points, property lockups, information points, and medical centres. Attendees can also familiarise themselves with welfare and lost property points, in case they need help.

The map also highlights pedestrian routes, helping music fans get around the site to find their favourite musicians and events.

Revellers can also use the map to find out their nearest bar, handily marked on the map with a pint of beer symbol. Fan favourites including Meeting Place, West Holts Bar, the Cockmill, Avalon Inn, the Park Bar and the Cornish Arms will return, plus two new bars—The Taphouse (situated in Leftfield) and The Elephant Bar (near the Pyramid Stage).

Even seasoned Glastonbury fans will have much more to discover this—so the map is sure to help music fans make sure they don’t miss out.
