Glastonbury Festival confirms ticket resale details with big change to how payments are made

Glastonbury Festival has confirmed details of its upcoming ticket resale and confirmed a big change to how payments are made. Many music lovers around the country will be counting down the days until this year’s edition of the famous Somerset festival, but for the thousands of unlucky people who missed out on tickets the first time round, all hope is not lost.

Tickets for Glastonbury are notoriously difficult to acquire, and this year was no different. Website crashes, payment failures, and just the sheer number of hopeful attendees caused heartbreak for thousands of people who had furiously been hitting the refresh button the second tickets went on sale.

But there is still a chance to bag a ticket. That’s because the festival is releasing a limited number of tickets later this month that have been cancelled or refunded.

Do I have to be registered to book tickets?

Everyone must be registered to book tickets for Glastonbury Festival. This includes everyone in a group who plans on attending, not just the person making the booking.

Those who are already registered do not need to re-register for the presale, but may want to ensure their registration details are up to date. Glastonbury advises those not already registered to do so here by Friday, April 14, to allow for the registration to be processed and resubmitted if needed.

Registration closes at 5pm on Monday, April 17, and will not reopen until after the resale.

How many tickets can I buy in the resale?

In the general admission resale, you can purchase up to four tickets per transaction, but you can only book one ticket per registration. To book for a group, the person making the booking must enter the registration numbers and registered postcode for each person per ticket.

The ticket plus coach travel options sale will be limited to two tickets per transaction, and the same process regarding registration details applies here.

How much do tickets cost?

Unlike the general sale, the full balance including fees must be paid in full during the resale window. Tickets cost £335 plus £5 booking per person.

Secure postage of general admission tickets is charged at £9.75 per order. Tickets plus coach travel options e-Ticket delivery is £2.50 per order.

Where can I buy resale tickets?

Resale tickets will only be available at glastonbury.seetickets.com.

What’s the big change regarding resale ticket payments?

Glastonbury Festival has confirmed a big change from previous years regarding paying for tickets booked in the resale. Due to the high volume of traffic expected for the limited number of tickets available, you will not be asked for your payment details during the booking process.

Once you have submitted an order request – including the registration details for each ticket – you will receive an initial confirmation to let you know your order has been received, followed by an email within three hours of the sale closing, with details of how to pay for the booking.

You will then have 24 hours to complete the ticket purchase before the order is cancelled.
