Six big site changes are coming to Glastonbury Festival this year. The world-famous event returns to Worthy Farm in June after two cancellations in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
And this year, the festival will mark its 50th anniversary with once-in-a-lifetime gigs by musical legends including Paul McCartney, Billie Eilish and Diana Ross. The official site map has now been revealed and it appears to show a number of key changes to the site.
It looks as though there will be some layout changes and some new stages and venues to explore. You can see below the new festival site map as well as the old map from 2019, reports Somerset Live.

Fresh layout and new stage for Silver Hayes area
The Silver Hayes area of the festival is home to all things electronic and dance. In 2022 it will play host to sets from acts including as Wilkinson, Fatboy Slim, HAAi and Mura Masa.
The Silver Hayes area is located in the north-west of the festival site. The new 2022 map appears to show a completely new layout for the area.
All three main stages will be in different locations, with the new layout looking roomier than at the 2019 festival. One completely new stage - the Lonely Hearts Club - will replace the Blues Stage.
New location for BBC Introducing Stage
The BBC Introducing Stage aims to support new music talent from across the country. In the past, Ed Sheeran performed on this small stage before going on to headline the main Pyramid Stage just a few years later, so it's definitely the place to spot up-and-coming talent.
The BBC Introducing Stage is located in the north-west of the festival site. In 2019, it was located within the main Sliver Hayes field.
However, the 2022 map appears to show the stage will be shifted across to the right. It will now be located on the main route between The Other Stage and the Pyramid Stage.
The Beat Hotel makes way for new venue
The Beat Hotel had become a key part of the festival over recent years. Decorated just like an American motel from the 70s, the large tent featured live DJs, and a selection of cocktails including Lagerita and Donkey Punch.
The Beat Hotel was located between the Silver Hayes and John Peel areas. However, it is set to be replaced by a new venue in 2022.
The new map shows a venue called San Remo in its place. It is understood that San Remo will be run by the same organisers as The Beat Hotel but will provide a new venue for revellers to explore.
Changes to The Common
The Common is part of the late-night area of Glastonbury Festival. It is located in the south-east corner of the festival site alongside Shangri-La and Block9.
It is home to the spectacular colosseum-like Temple stage. In 2019 it was also home to the smaller Samula stage, however, the new 2022 map appears to show a new stage - Totem - in its place.
Arcadia spider returns
Arcadia, the giant flame-breathing mechanical spider, will return to the festival's south-west corner. The popular attraction, that sprays fire and shoots laser beams, was not present at the last festival in 2019 as a new attraction took its place.
The towering Pangea, made from a huge decommissioned crane from Avonmouth docks in Bristol, brought a new style of party to the festival with imaginative air displays on show. However, the Arcadia spider will return in place of Pangea.
Arcadia will be the stage for sets from world-famous DJs including Calvin Harris, Carl Cox, Chase and Status, Four Tet, Jon Hopkins and Sub Focus. The stage is also set to play host to a "very special guests" slot.
The Glade may look different
The Glade is a popular area in the heart of the festival site and can be found just off the old railway track near to the Other Stage. It is home to mostly electronic music.
The main Glade Stage has for many years been located within a shady wooded area, giving the venue a unique feel. However, the 2022 map appears to show the main stage will be moved out of the trees and will shift right to a more open space.
The official Twitter account for the Glade area appears to confirm that the main stage will be on the move. A post from the account reads: "New home. New adventures. New memories. Not long now, Glade family… we’ve missed you…."
