Glastonbury 2023: Sell-out stadium rock band hint at festival slot

Queens of the Stone Age have reignited rumours the band is heading to Glastonbury 2023. The band was reportedly "wrongly listed" in the first wave of 55 acts announced earlier this year, but have now suggested they could in fact be heading to Worthy Farm.

The five-piece outfit led by Josh Homme has performed at the festival three times, most recently in 2011. They are heading to the UK this June with shows in Halifax, Cardiff and Margate, which are conveniently around the festival taking place on June 21 to 25.

QOTSA took photos of posters reading ‘long live the Queens’ in the three UK cities as part of the tour. On their Instagram Stories, they teased a fourth gig in the UK leg of the tour, at Glastonbury, including a location tag for Castle Cary, the closest railway station to the festival site.

The group played their first live show in three years in Ohio on Friday (May 26) ahead of the start of their comeback tour across Europe this summer. Their performance would be well timed ahead of the release their eighth studio album In Times New Roman hitting the shelves just a week before Glastonbury 2023.

Most of the Glastonbury Festival areas and stages have been announced already with the largest stages, Pyramid and Other, still yet to be confirmed.
