Glastonbury has revealed its new vision for Silver Hayes to celebrate its tenth anniversary and a long legacy of dance music. Organisers of Glastonbury Festival 2023 have confirmed that the area, which previously hosted the likes of Fatboy Slim and Bristol's Eats Everything, will have two new stages alongside its full programme.
Silver Hayes is an expansive area at the festival site, located west of the Pyramid Stage, which has traditionally focused on electronic music and DJ sets including Drum and Bass, Garage, Afrobeat, Hip Hop and more. Originally called the Dance Tent from its inception in 1995, it was subsequently renamed Dance Village in 2005 with the rise of global dance music, becoming Silver Hayes in 2013.
The Sonic Stage - the area's unofficial main stage - is no longer and has been replaced by The Levels - a new open-air nightclub "inspired by the crossover of architecture, lighting and experimental musical art-forms". Organisers have creatively reimagined the existing Lonely Hearts Club and The Firmly Rooted Soundsystem stages as well as The Wow stage. The music line-ups have also been revealed in full, making Silver Hayes the second festival area to do so.

The next evolution of the area also comes with the addition of "a new experimental art pavilion", supported by Arts Council England. 'The Information stage' will come to Glastonbury for the first time - a powerful platform for urgent debate. Leftfield has traditionally been the main stage for debate and panel discussions, with a long history at the festival, but this new stage seeks to "place forward-thinking conversation side-by-side with contemporary electronic music programming", the festival says.
Speakers for the Information stage are yet to be confirmed but Glastonbury has announced a music programme for the other four stages in Silver Hayes. It is the second stage to announce its line-up after West Holts.
