It's just one week to go until revellers will be making the long journey to Worthy Farm for Glastonbury 2023. Those of you who have been lucky to score a ticket this year will be planning what weather-appropriate clothing to lug to the festival. But the all-important question is, is it wellie weather this year?
In previous years, there have been a few moments of biblical weather with waterlogged fields back in 2005 and 2007. The festival's return in 2022 saw near-perfect sunny conditions with just a small scattering of showers.
The south west has seen almost every kind of weather over the last seven days including a yellow alert and thunder. Yesterday (June 13), Glastonbury town saw scorching temperatures at the mercury climbed to 30°C.

In addition, the weather leading up to the festival dates is just as important, especially in terms of ground conditions. So far, The Met Office and BBC are both suggesting it should be fairly dry this week with possibly some showers on Monday and Tuesday next week.
That being said, let's take a look at what the forecasters are currently predicting for next week (June 21-25):
The BBC
BBC Weather has revealed its predictions for the entire length of the festival and is currently forecasting some light rain showers on certain days. As festivalgoers start to arrive on site, there could be a small chance of rain that rises to 51 per cent by 4pm.
It looks set to get warmer throughout the week, currently predicting Saturday and Sunday will be the warmest and driest days of the weekend, reaching highs of 27C on the final day of Glastonbury 2023.

The Met Office
The forecaster still only has its long-range predictions for the UK available on the dates around the festival. From Sunday, June 18 to Tuesday, June 27, The Met Office says there could be a risk of showers and thunderstorms in the south of the UK but will see warmer than average temperatures.
The Met Office says: "Further ahead, a continuing risk of heavy showers and thunderstorms at times in the south and west, whereas further north and east there should be some more reliable drier interludes, then perhaps becoming more generally a little more settled by the end of this period. Warmer than average temperatures overall, with hot days even in wetter areas and continued humidity at night.
