Arctic Monkeys and Guns N’ Roses have joined Elton John as this year’s Glastonbury headliners, co-organiser Emily Eavis has confirmed.
It had previously been revealed that Elton John would be closing the 2023 festival on the Sunday, but now it’s been announced that Arctic Monkeys will headline Friday on the Pyramid Stage, and Guns N’ Roses will make their first appearance at Worthy Farm on the Saturday, the Guardian reports.
It comes as Eavis addresses the issue of a line-up of all-male headliners for this year’s festival. Taylor Swift was among the performers tipped to perform at Glastonbury after she was due to headline the festival in 2020, but the star will be in the middle of her US tour when its set to take place.

Although US singer Lizzo will open for Guns N’ Roses, while Lana Del Rey is set to headline the Other stage. Lil Nas X will perform before Elton John.
This year’s line up features a mix of legendary performers and new artists. Among the artists appearing at Worthy Farm this summer are Eurovision winners Maneskin, Lewis Capaldi and Blondie.
Eavis told The Guardian that lack of female headliners is due to a industry “pipeline” issue and that it needs to invest more in female performers. She said: “We’re trying our best so the pipeline needs to be developed. This starts way back with the record companies, radio. I can shout as loud as I like but we need to get everyone on board.”
She added that Lizzo “could totally headline” although the slot had already been promised to someone else. Eavis said that she was “entirely focused on balancing our bill” and looked at “every aspect of diversity”.
Glastonbury 2023 will take place from June 21-25.
