Unless you had a very shoddy Wi-Fi signal at the weekend, the Oscars of festival season will have likely hit your Instagram feeds with force, with celebrities, performers and festival-goers alike at Worthy Farm wearing their very best Glastonbury looks. They formed a vivid sea of cowboy hats, glitter and a lot of crochet.
Of course, there will be new trends popping up every year, but there are certain sartorial traditions at Glastonbury you’ll notice without fail, come rain or shine: such as Barbour jackets, say, and Hunter wellies. And festival regulars such as Sienna Miller and Poppy Delevingne, who bring their wardrobe A-game.
The aforementioned Glasto-goers were both serving strong looks this year. Miller, for instance, traipsed the grounds wearing a double-denim cowgirl getup, white cowboy boots and all. Meanwhile, Delevingne swanned about in a crochet dress by Nobody’s Child, paired with a black fringe bag and matching Hunter wellies.
The Barbour jacket brigade was also present in the form of actresses Lily James and Gemma Chan, who were papped repping the most enduring of Glasto trends. James, who was with friend and fellow actress Billie Piper, matched her black wax jacket with a dark mini dress featuring glitter and lace layering. Black and gold glitter plus minimalism at Glasto? It’s giving early 2000s Kate Moss.
Chan, however, went more preppy with her Barbour look, wearing her wax jacket atop a white slogan tee and white distressed denim mini skirt. She looked the picture of festival ease as she navigated the Glasto grounds with her boyfriend Dominic Cooper.
Elswhere, onstage festival style was brought by performers such as Lizzo and Elton John. They both wore bold, reflective, metallic gold stage looks, as did Rina Sawayama, who joined John on stage at one point in a sequined silver naked dress.
The show was stolen, though, by Lil Nas X, who channelled Beyoncé as he rapped from atop a huge, fringed pony figure while wearing a series of looks. These included a gilded breastplate, white fur coat and sapphire sequined mini skirt, complete with a gargantuan buffalo head belt.
In the crowd, rapper Stormzy enjoyed the musical stylings of Aitch while proving the enduring power of the simple white vest top, worn with white heart-shaped sunglasses.
Also enjoying the music was model Mia Regan, who supported the charity WaterAid with a signpost and matching slogan white tee, styled with leopard-print swim shorts and chunky black boots. Regan was later spotted chilling out on the festival grounds with her boyfriend, football protégé and son of Victoria and David Beckham, Romeo.
It couldn’t get more Glasto than Maisie Williams, though, who flexed her festival dressing prowess in a floral mini dress with a sheer jacket overlayed above it, with cascading straps extending from her outfit. She added some glitz to the outfit by restraining her hair with a series of silver star hairclips, as well as matching her black leather Coach handbag to a pair of mega-stomp black calf-high boots.
