The organisers behind the largest café at Glastonbury have expressed their shock after being informed they will not be returning to run it this year.
Avalon Café announced it would not be returning this June in a social media post posted on Tuesday (June 8), a decision its team said came as a "massive shock". The organisers - who have been running the popular food stall in Field of Avalon for "20 wonderful years" - said they were informed they were no longer a part of the plans for the field.
Bristol Live has reached out to Glastonbury Festival for comment. While the organisers will not be there, the café site will remain in its usual place "in some form", they wrote.

The café thanked its loyal customers, the artists and the staff who have contributed to the stall over the past two decades. Avalon Café has been well known on site for its hearty breakfasts, freshly prepared meals and excellent coffees.
Its full statement shared on Twitter read: "Sadly we will not be running Avalon Café in the Avalon Field this year. After 20 wonderful years of our family serving food and entertainment with love, we were informed that we are no longer part of the plans for the field, this came as a massive shock to us.
"The café will be there in some form, but we wanted to tell our loyal customers that it won't be us greeting you this year. Thank you to all of the amazing bands who have played over the years, the customers who have eaten mountains of food and drank oceans of coffee with us. Most of all, thank you to our hardworking staff who turned up in rain or shine and became our festival family.
Will you be going to this year's festival and will you miss the café? Tell us in the comments section.
"We have loved being part of Glastonbury, and we are sorry we won't be able to gather with you once more. We wish you all a wonderful festival."

You are part of the fabric of the festival, I cant believe this decision has been made. You will be missed by so many people. This is the end of an era and for your hard work and dedication, no thanks, but I and many others Thank you, you will be missed. X"
"Oh no, that's really sad. One of my favourite places to sit down and just see what's going on," wrote @rhg1980.
