Glasgow woman stunned after cheeky cat pinches SEALED food pouch from neighbour's house

A Glasgow woman was left absolutely stunned after her cheeky cat brought home a pouch of food it had pinched from a neighbour's house.

Emma Sheerin, from King's Park, was working from home when she heard a racket coming from her cat flap on Tuesday afternoon.

The 32-year-old went to investigate - and she could hardly believe her eyes when she saw one of her three cats, Ja Rule, with a SEALED pouch of ASDA Tiger Complete in his mouth.

She started chasing the rascal around the house before prying it from the grasp of his teeth.

Emma told the Record: "He's ridiculous. I was just working away and I could hear the cat flap unlock and I could hear whoever it was struggling to get in. I was just thinking, 'what is that noise?!'

"He doesn't usually go out too much because he's quite old - him and his brother have just turned 10.

"But I could hear Ja Rule running up the stairs and he must have dropped it, because I could hear something clattering.

"I went into the hallway and I just seen him with this pouch of food.

"I couldn't believe it. I just shouted, 'where the heck did you get that?!'"

Emma says this isn't the first time Ja Rule has trespassed and made his way into a neighbour's house.

In fact, she admits it's quite a common occurrence - especially when food is around.

Emma said: "He's been known to go into other houses. If there is food anywhere he will find it and he will take it.

"He's went into my neighbour's houses before when they've been cooking their dinner, so I have no doubt that someone has probably left their door open and he has just went in and helped himself and went running.

"I was worried thinking, what if someone caught him in the act. I was looking out my window for an enraged neighbour."

After chasing Ja Rule around the living room and getting the pouch off him, Emma was unsure what to do with it.

In the end, when no one arrived at the door claiming the food, she decided he'd earned it - but the cheeky feline had to wait until the following day.

Emma said: "I can't leave open food anywhere because he will just take it. If he finds food he needs to run and hide with it, so I was chasing him round the living room.

"He went and hid under the couch at one point and I was like, 'get out here!' And I managed to grab the pouch off him.

"But I was laughing to myself thinking, I can't believe you've gone to this level. He will eat and eat until he's sick. He's not even fat, he's just such a grubber."

She added: "He had the pouch for breakfast this morning. I didn't want to waste it.

"Someone said to me, 'if only he would bring you money'... but that would only happen if money came covered in gravy!"
