Glasgow woman assaulted member of staff with handbag at Partick nursery

A woman has been ordered to pay compensation after assaulting a member of staff at a nursery.

Najma Ashiq, 44, lashed out at Michelle Smith at Elie Street Nursery in Glasgow’s Partick on August 23, 2021.

Court papers state Ashiq repeatedly struck Miss Smith on the body with a bag and its contents to her injury.

Ashiq, of the city’s Kelvinbridge, also assaulted Jawaria Ali near her home on March 22, 2020.

The charge says that Ashiq struck her on the head and repeatedly punched her on the head.

Ashiq pled guilty to the two assault charges.

She was ordered to pay Miss Smith £300 compensation.

Ashiq was also put under 18 months supervision for the attack on Miss Ali.
