Glasgow woman, 21, caught with indecent images of children collected since she was a teen

A woman began collecting indecent images of children from when she was a teenager.

Ciara Best, now 21, was snared with 63 still and moving images at her parent's home Glasgow's Toryglen on November 4, 2020.

Best was 19 when she stored the images on her computer from September 2019.

She pled guilty today at Glasgow Sheriff Court possession of indecent images of children.

The first offender also admitted taking or permitting to be taken or make indecent images of children.

The court heard Best's mother allowed officers entry after a warrant was granted.

A computer tower was seized during a search which Best admitted owning and having access to.

Prosecutor Hannah Sweeney said: "54 still images were recovered.

"There were nine moving images.

"The creation dates were between September 2019 and November 2020."

Examples of images recovered and told to the court included female children aged 10 and 12.

Best was arrested and gave a no comment interview to police.

Sheriff Paul Crozier deferred sentence until April pending background reports.

He also granted her bail and put her on the sex offenders register meantime.

The sheriff said: "Be in no doubt, these are extremely serious matters I'm dealing with in respect of you."
