Glasgow weather warning as thunderstorm alert issued this weekend during TRNSMT

Glasgow has been issued with a thunderstorm warning which is set to bring lots of rain, clouds and more to the city.

The alert is in place for tomorrow (Saturday, July 8) when the weather will take a nasty turn with a yellow warning issued by the Met Office for much of the UK.

The forecasters say that "heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected over parts of the UK on Saturday" which, for those heading to TRNSMT, could mean a wet and wild music festival. So take your wellies, folks!

In their reason for their warning they explain: "Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected on Saturday, during the morning mainly over parts of England before becoming mainly focused over northern England and Scotland by late afternoon/evening.

"Some intense downpours are likely and whilst rainfall accumulations will vary from place to place, as much as 50 mm of rain could fall in a short space of time in some locations. Hail, lightning and gusty winds will be additional hazards."
