A cold snap has arrived, with temperature dropping to -3°C." across Glasgow.
The freezing conditions follow a Met Office yellow weather warning for ice that impacted much of the country during Sunday evening and into Monday morning. Wintry conditions have created difficult conditions, with snowfall possible across the west coast.
Road users urged to take care as chilly weather is set to continue throughout the coming days. Highs of just 2°C. are expected on Monday (January 16) and Tuesday (January 17).

The winter weather will see things remain bright but cold until the weekend, with icy patches on untreated roads and pavements. ScotRail have also issued a warning to travellers, taking to Twitter to say: "It's a cold one! Please be careful if you're out and about today as some platforms and paths may be slippery."
The cold conditions also bring a risk of snow across the west coast, with Met Office forecasters stating: "Many places will be dry with a good deal of sunshine. A few snow showers possible across Argyll and along the west coast."
And into this evening, the wintry weather will continue, with the Met Office forecast reading: "The occasional snow shower will continue across the west coast as well as Argyll and Bute tonight, with remaining places cold but dry. Minimum temperature -1 °C."
The coming days will also feel chilly, with temperatures much lower than the mild conditions enjoyed throughout Glasgow and the west during the opening weeks of 2023.
