Glasgow weather and heatwave update as temperatures set to hit 25C - but there's a catch

Temperatures in Glasgow are currently approaching 20 degrees Celsius, but it is expected to get a lot hotter in the city.

According to forecaster the Met Office, temperatures will hover between 15C and 20C for the next few days. It is then expected to heat up considerable by the weekend.

Tuesday will remain steady at just under 20C, with the sun coming out for much of the evening, before falling to lows of 12C overnight. This will carry over into a warm Wednesday morning, with the mercury holding steady at around 15C.

After this, things will warm up in the afternoon to highs of 17C. However, skies will be grey for most of the day, and there will even be light rain showers at around 3pm.

Unfortunately, this weather will continue on for much of the remainder of the week — even as temperatures soar. Thursday will once again see peaks of 17C, but also bring grey skies and rain showers in the morning and early afternoon.

Friday looks to be even warmer, but even wetter, with highs of 19C but rain forecast across much of the day. Things will brighten up by the evening, but overnight the clouds will return.

While Saturday is not currently forecast to be a wet one in Glasgow, it will be very cloudy, with no sunshine in sight. With temperatures hitting 21C, though, it will be the hottest day of the week yet.

A 'very high' pollen warning is also in place for Saturday. This means that those with bad allergies or who suffer from hay fever should be prepared and perhaps stay indoors as much as possible.

Sunday will be the hottest day of the week, with temperatures hitting a scorching 25C. However, it will once again be a cloudy day in the city, with no sunshine currently forecast.
