Glasgow train station remains closed 12 hours on from 'police incident'

A train station in Glasgow remains closed to rail passengers 12 hours after a police incident.

ScotRail has confirmed that trains are still unable to call at Westerton station following the incident which occurred late last night.

The full circumstances surrounding the incident have yet to be established.

Alternative transport arrangements were put in place for rail users last night around 11pm, with passengers advised to get off at Drumchapel or Anniesland to be able to then continue to Westerton.

An update issued this morning by ScotRail on Twitter read: "Our trains are still unable to stop at Westerton station following a police incident last night. Trains will pass through without stopping until around Midday.

"If you get off at Drumchapel, Anniesland or Bearsden instead, there'll be replacement buses back to Westerton."

British Transport Police has been contacted for comment.

UPDATE: Trains are now able to call at Westerton as normal.
