Glasgow train line closed after roof blows off building near Alexandra Parade station

A Glasgow train line is closed after a roof blew off a nearby building amid Storm Dudley.

The route between Bellgrove and Springburn stations is not in operation as a result of the incident, which concerned a building located near to Alexandra Parade station in Dennistoun.

Network Rail confirmed news of the closure in a tweet this morning, which read: "In Glasgow, the route between Bellgrove and Springburn is closed due to a roof having blown off a building near Alexandra Parade station.

"We’ll provide more detail on that when we have it."

Trains are also unable to run on the Lanark line due to a signalling fault at present, with Network Rail not expecting the issue to be resolved before midday.

Meanwhile ScotRail passenger services in the Glasgow area are withdrawn until approximately 10am this morning with the exception of the services between Queen Street and Anniesland, Oban and Edinburgh and between Balloch and Airdrie.
