Glasgow to welcome new Cuban bar Bizarron as it takes over former Ad Lib spot

A new late-night bar and restaurant set open in the city centre this Friday – but thirsty Scotland fans are being given the first chance to try it out later today (Tuesday, June 20).

The Cuban food and drink spot, Bizarron, is set to open at 111 Hope Street, formerly home to Ad Lib.

"How El Bizarron Fooled the Devil" is a celebrated story said to have originated in Cuba, inspiring the theme for the new Glasgow bar, with South American music, menu, and moody décor and lighting.

Following a complete overhaul of the current city centre location, which sits close to Central Station, Bizarron will open to the public on Friday 23 June, with a 3am late-night licence.

And as a wee taster, it will also open its doors today at 4 pm ahead of the big match of Hampden, meaning the Tartan Army can enjoy a rum cocktail or two on their way to the big match.
