The UK's first immersive and action-packed painting experience is coming to Glasgow's Merchant City this month.
The Splatter Art Studio is the brainchild of two teams behind the Locked In and eeek! Escape Rooms, who have come together to create a new experience that allows guests to unleash their inner artists and create their own masterpieces in a totally fun and unique way.
Described as the UK’s first "contemporary, action-packed painting experience", the studio is located at 15 Osborne Street, and will offer ‘Splatter Art Sessions’ suitable for all ages and skill levels.
"Our passion for entertainment at our two independent escape room venues has created a unique bond and we decided that we should combine our strengths to create something new," explained Ellie Hair of eeek! "While exploring new activities we discovered the concept of Action Painting/Splatter Art and were absolutely captivated by the unique blend of entertainment with creativity and so the idea was born."

Adding that you can unleash your inner Jackson Pollock at the new studio, guests can enjoy flicking, throwing, splatting or shooting paint-filled guns at a blank canvas to complete their own bespoke artwork, which they then get to take home.
Klaudyna Berbec from Locked In stated that mess is "highly encouraged" at Splatter Art Studio, as it’s designed to be a space where you can get creative, let your inner child run free, and not have to worry about the clean-up afterwards.
She added: "People can expect a friendly welcoming atmosphere with all the equipment and advice required to have a great time while creating art. Our splatter sessions are all open with an introduction by our splatter guides.
"We demonstrate a wide variety of fun techniques for splashing and pouring paints on a canvas to help you create your masterpiece. From that point on you’re free to use the space and equipment at your leisure with your Splatter Guides on hand to help. Your canvas is yours to take home to hang with pride. We provide you with your own box to help you safely carry your creation home."
As well as the canvas, paint, and tools, you'll be given protective clothing such as ponchos, booties, hairnets, and gloves, with each session lasting one hour with add-ons available such as bigger canvases and even tote bags to splash.
Once you have finished creating your masterpiece you can take it home in an official Splatter Art take-home box which will safely store your painting for travel.
Already receiving rave reviews from test groups, the team is excited to open to the public later this month, with standard ‘Splatter Art Sessions’, sitting beside private events including children and adult birthday parties, hen and stag celebrations, and corporate team-building events.
The entertainment venue can host up to thirteen people at one time, making it the ideal space for an intimate gathering.
To celebrate the official opening on World Art Day, (15th April), Splatter Art Studio Glasgow is offering a special promotion on their website for a limited time only where new customers can receive £5 off a standard ‘Splatter Art Session’ by entering ‘SPLATT25’ into the promotional section of the checkout.
Open Thursday until Sunday from 10 am - 9 pm, the team says they are also accepting walk-in bookings at the studio.
