Glasgow Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's shoppers issued Easter egg reminder

People who shop at supermarkets such as Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's have been issued with a reminder during Easter.

As many people now venture to their local store to pick up the all important chocolate eggs, the reminder comes after a warning by a leading charity who have said that shoppers across Glasgow - and the rest of the UK - are missing out on free cash if they are buying Easter eggs from a supermarket.

As reported by the Echo, easyfundraising are keen to let shoppers know that if they buy all the annual goodies through their website, they can get some retailers to give to good causes on their behalf - and it won’t cost shoppers any extra.

Supermarket giants including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's are all offering the service, with shoppers able to get their hands on chocolate eggs for as little as £1.

James Moir, the company’s CEO, said: "Lots of us will be looking forward to indulging in some Easter eggs over the next few weeks with offers and promotions from many supermarkets attempting to invite us to make some purchases.

"What we need to let people know is that when they buy their shopping from one of the major supermarkets online, they can use easyfundraising to get a bit of extra cash; not for them, but for their favourite charity. Don’t leave it to the last minute to get all your groceries.

"When you purchase through our website, the supermarket will make a donation to the good cause of your choice and it won’t add anything extra to your shopping bill. So, you can shop in the confidence that your favourite charity will benefit from whatever goods you purchase."
