Glasgow temperature to hit 13C tomorrow after week of snow and ice

Glaswegian's will be ditching the winter jackets after a weekend of snow and ice tomorrow with temperatures set to reach the teens.

A yellow weather warning is still in force across Glasgow and most of Scotland, with the city facing an onslaught of wintery weather this weekend.

However, Glaswegian's will wake up to much milder conditions tomorrow with temperatures hitting 13C. The snow fall will be replaced by heavy rain as warm air makes its way from the Atlantic.

The west coast won't be the only place in the UK to benefit from the change in weather with temperatures in the UK ranging from 11C to 14C, which is the complete opposite of the freezing Scotland was hit with last week.

Met Office forecaster Marco Petagna said both daytime and night-time temperatures are expected to increase over the next couple of days.

He told the PA news agency: “At the moment daytime temperatures are low single figures, and in places are staying below freezing under snow cover, so some areas are just a little bit below zero.

“But daytime temperatures by Monday, we’re looking at across the UK highs of 11C to 14C, so around about 15 degrees certainly higher than they’ve been.”

Some areas in the UK could see an increase of more than 15 degrees.
