The sun has taken its time to appear this year and midway into June, we're getting a little impatient.
The weather forecast suggests we're going to endure another weekend of mixed weather, but surely it's a matter of time 'til we get the taps aff and the bbqs oot.
And there's likely to be a lot of attention on the south side of Glasgow over the next wee while, with Hampden Park bringing hordes of gig-goers to the area.
Ed Sheeran, Calvin Harris and Liam Gallagher are all set to perform sell-out shows at Scotland's national stadium in the coming weeks, meaning thousands will flock out of Mount Florida station from across the city and beyond.

Church on the Hill
When the sun's in the south side, this beer garden is stowed out.
Picturesque views of Queens Park and Battlefield before you, a stunning old church building behind you and the sun shining above - what more do you need?
It does excellent pints and the food selection is always on point too. You might want to book in advance when the mercury rises above 20c.
The Ivory Hotel
A short amble down the hill from its more illustrious neighbour, The Ivory enjoys huge popularity with locals and is a long-standing south side bar that does it exactly what it says on the tin.
The benches out front serve as a lovely spot to soak up the sun with the beautiful green Queen's Park in view just across the road.
Beechings
Right opposite Cathcart Station, you'll find the simple and unfussy, but reliable Beechings.
This local boozer reopened its rooftop beer garden for the first time in 15 years during lockdown easing and it's one with a difference.
The pub is housed in the former ticket office of Cathcart train station, with the stairs leading up to the old platform and the perfect south side spot to watch the trains go by while enjoying a nice ice cold pint of T.
The White Elephant
A little further into Cathcart and towards Merrylee, you'll find the brilliantly-named White Elephant.
It recently came under new ownership - to favourable reviews from local residents, who claim the substantial beer garden has gotten even better than before.
Reviews say it has 'really good food' and 'really friendly staff', meaning there's little to find fault with. This might be a more off-the-radar shout if you're heading to Hampden.
The Rum Shack
You'd be forgiven for thinking you were transported a million miles away from the busy-ness of Pollokshaws Road when you pull up a pew at The Rum Shack's back door sun trap.
Another popular spot that tends to get booked up fast, a tropical shirt wouldn't look out of place as you sip back on one of the bar's excellent rum cocktails and tuck into their Caribbean-inspired jerk chicken.
Clockwork
Somewhat of a south side institution, if you pass the Clockwork on a Hampden matchday you'll be met with queues down the street, with punters more than happy to wait to enjoy their excellent beer selection.
Come summer they open up a sizeable spot with benches out the back, making it a hugely popular stop off in the sun before nipping to the turnstiles at Hampden.
Armstrong's
A home from home for Scotland fans making their way to Hampden, this character-filled Battlefield boozer benefits from its bar staff's ability to get pints out quickly when punters have poured through the doors.
Set over two levels, there's a pool table for people to enjoy and a decent-sized beer garden out the back, all within a short walk of the national stadium.
Number 10 Hotel
Perched on a beautiful spot overlooking Queen's Park Recreation Ground, this place may get the majority of its trade from hosting weddings and overnight stays, but its stylish and well-maintained beer garden is more than worth a visit in the sunshine.
Fully booked out for Scotland's Euro 2020 games last summer, its an attractive stop off for people wanting a drink and a bite to eat in comfort, while making the most of the weather.
