Glasgow SleepOut outside Buchanan Galleries next month to tackle youth homelessness

A charity which aims to end youth homelessness is hosting its first ever Scottish SleepOut outside Buchanan Galleries next month.

LandAid are bringing their SleepOut to Glasgow, as well as other UK locations, as the charity hopes to raise £600,000 towards their cause.

They are calling on over 1,000 property professionals across the country to come together to endure one night outside and SleepOut on Thursday March 2, to raise funds to support young people between 16-25 years facing homelessness.

All funds raised at the Glasgow SleepOut will be directed to a charity or project(s) supporting young people in the local area.

Each LandAid SleepOut participant will be asked to raise over £166 to support the project.

Their work includes bringing the property industry together to support charities delivering life-changing services for young people who are or have been homeless or who are at risk of homelessness in the future.

Wide support has already been shown across the property and real estate industries, including Glasgow regional sponsor Hollis.

Craig Munro, Regional Head at Hollis said: "Hollis are delighted to be a sponsor of LandAid’s first ever Scotland SleepOut.

"Having supported the event in England for many years we know the impact it has in bringing the property industry together to raise money to help end youth homelessness – a vital cause that we must all do our bit to tackle."

Paul Morrish, Chief Executive, LandAid, said: “Bringing in our Scottish partners for the first time this year is so exciting! It is very special that we are now on our fifth year of getting property professionals together for our annual SleepOut.

"With brilliant events like this, LandAid can continue to support young people in building stable futures and enabling them to have a place to call home."
