Glasgow set to see Scotland’s first IMAX with Laser screen at Silverburn cinema

Cineworld has announced Silverburn will open the first IMAX laser screen in Scotland.

Set to join the cinema’s existing 14 screens, the new addition will provide stunning images alongside powerful, immersive audio. The technology, which includes a 4K laser projection system with a new optical engine delivers crystal clear projections.

Cineworld bosses say the new screen will deliver ‘distinct, exotic colours’. From today, movie buffs can book in for Dwayne Johnson’s latest superhero movie Black Adam.

Also coming up is Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, as well as Avatar: The Way of Water.

Helen Baird, Glasgow Silverburn General Manager at Cineworld, said: “We’re delighted to be launching this brand new screen and offer our local Cineworld customers a whole new way to enjoy the big screen.

“The new auditorium will have 468 seats and offer cinema lovers an experience like no other with this incredible new IMAX with laser technology.”

Giovanni Dolci, Chief Sales Officer at IMAX, added: “We’re thrilled to partner with Cineworld to bring the people of Glasgow IMAX with laser, our most advanced and immersive theatrical technology.

“This partnership makes a key step in continuing to grow the IMAX brand as a premiere destination for entertainment and events, both in Scotland and around the world.”

The screen will open to the public on October 14, though tickets can be purchased now.
