Glasgow set for new KFC as proposal reveals 24 hour drive-thru plans at Asda supermarket

Glasgow could soon have a new KFC after plans emerged for a drive-thru restaurant to be built in the city.

As reported by reglasgow.com, council planning staff are currently reviewing plans for a new 54-seat eatery at the Asda supermarket car park in Robroyston, in Glasgow's north east.

Earlier this year, we reported our city may soon see seven new KFC locations after the fast food chain announced it was planning to open 500 restaurants across the UK.

Neighbourhoods like Finnieston, Maryhill, and Robroyston were all named as areas in which the fast food giant is looking to build new Drive Thrus.

Silverburn, Milngavie, and Glasgow Fort are also being targeted.

The proposal for Robroyston, made on behalf of Euro Garages Ltd - which owns Asda's forecourt business - states: "The application seeks planning permission for the development of a drive-thru restaurant, together with customer parking, access facilities and associated landscaping.

"The restaurant will offer customers the choice of eating within the restaurant or 'take away' from either the counter or the drive-thru lane.

"The restaurant will have a delivery collection point for the use of delivery aggregators (e.g. JustEat, Uber Eat and Deliveroo)."

Meanwhile, the opening hours are listed as Monday-Sunday 24 hours.

To see the application in full, which has recently received at least one objection from a neighbouring resident, you can visit the Glasgow City Council online planning portal here.
