Glasgow set for exciting new African-inspired restaurant in Scottish debut

An exciting new restaurant is bringing the vibrant and captivating flavours of Africa to Glasgow this summer.

Afrikana is set to make its first venture into Scotland with the launch on Sauchiehall Street, offering a full experience with music, interior, ambience, and art, in addition to its enticing African-inspired dishes.

Founded by entrepreneur Omair Ali in 2018, Afrikana was established with the mission to fuse popular mainstream dishes with African-inspired flavours.

With top locations across the country, including London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Leicester, Bristol, and Lakeside, Afrikana is now making its debut in Scotland with its first Scottish launch in Glasgow.

Celebrating African culture, art, and music, the firm say they will be serving up "mouth-watering food, exceptional service, and a buzzing atmosphere".

Their menu boasts a range of exciting dishes, including slow-cooked Curry Goat, jerk fried chicken and plantain, Jammin’ Jambalaya, and tender French trim lamb chops packed with African-inspired seasoning and flavours.

The team confirmed that they cater to dietary requirements, with halal, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free items.

Malik Sufyan, the franchisee of our Glasgow city centre branch, expressed his excitement, saying: "We are thrilled to bring Afrikana to Glasgow in such a fantastic location.

"The vision began with the dream of delivering home-cooked African-inspired food. Our lovely Scots can expect a delectable and brilliant menu covering most dietary requirements.

"At Afrikana, we take pride in creating a wholesome experience for our customers. Expect regular live entertainment, African drummers, dancers, and DJs for a lively, fun, and authentic environment. "
