Glasgow’s 'tiniest vintage shop' opens this week - and it's the ultimate fashion Tardis

Glasgow’s west end. Home of steep hills, cracking bars, charming side streets and the famous Glasgow Uni accent. We can now add one more to that list: the city’s (maybe) smallest vintage shop.

Daniel Gallacher, who spent six years working at Topshop on Buchanan Street, has set up the second-hand clothing store G12Vintage inside a tiny building on Ruthven Lane.

Tucked up beside the Bothy restaurant, you might have to do a double take to find the minuscule space.

Daniel’s new store is something of a fashion Tardis and is bursting with around 400 pieces of luxury and high quality, sustainably sourced clothing inside.

The fashion lover kick-started the brand during lockdown and managed to grow his vintage business on Instagram, selling thousands of garments through Depop and Asos marketplace.

Now he’s delighted to open the first G12Vintage store on Friday, April 15 and meet his fashionable customers face-to-face.

He said: “The clothes I source are for the people of Glasgow. I have spent years watching and learning the tastes and styles of people in this incredible city and now I want to use the platform I have build to connect people with curated and sustainable fashion.”

Daniel added: “Glasgow, in my eyes, is the fashion capital of Scotland and would even give the likes of London a run for its money. We are home to some of the quirkiest and best dressed people in the world, it is this that G12 is inspired by and encapsulates."

We can’t officially call it the city’s smallest vintage shop, you only need to glance at the picture to see that best things definitely do come in the smallest packages.
