Glasgow's Queen's Park named in top five best places for outdoor picnic

A park in the south side of the city has been named as one of the best places to enjoy a picnic.

Queen's Park has been ranked the 5th best place in the UK to have an alfresco dining experience.

Researchers at NIO Cocktails looked at over 4,000 public parks listed in the top 100 UK cities and examined the quality and breadth of facilities, including public toilets and shops, to determine the top 20.

The south side park was the only location in Scotland to make the top 20 thanks to over 3,000 reviews by the public.

Spanning 148 acres and combining wildlife, gardens, and lawns as well as 17 nearby shops and toilets, it's no surprise that it came out in the top five.

Sheffield’s Peace Gardens came out on top, with over 25 toilets and shops nearby, followed by The Regent’s Park in London and St George Park in Bristol.
