Glasgow’s Platform 18 Street Festival - Everything you need to know

After nine years of massively successful street parties, Glasgow's Platform 18 will be coming to an end this year with one last goodbye.

Held over September 24 and 25 in West Street, the event begins at 1pm on Saturday and ends at 11pm on Sunday. Celebrating its last hurrah, the dance party boasts two open-air raves with a massive line-up set to rock the banks of the River Clyde.

Artists include DVS1, DJ Rush, Frazi.er, Kobosil, Outflight, Abstrakt, Gerry Kerans, Kane Kirkpatrick, Dave Clarke, Co-Accused, Maria Airam, Transcend and many more.

A statement from Platform 18 chiefs read: “After nine years of powerhouse parties under the bridge at West Street, 2022 marks The Final Stop for Glasgow’s Platform 18 Festival. After almost a decade of open-air raves boasting Dance Music royalty every single time with the likes of Derrick Carter, Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Carl Craig, Amelie Lens, to name a few, festival curator Ivan Kutz has decided to call time on the sound of the underground.

“As always mental health will be at the heart of the next event. Ivan has been supporting the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH) since 2013, in memory of his close friend and over £5,000 has already been generated for the charity.”

Ivan said: “It’s with a heavy heart that I will be hanging up the headphones down at West Street this year, it’s been such an extraordinary nine years which has given me the opportunity to build a unique electronic party and book my favourite DJs along the way. The whole experience has shaped me into the man I am today and I can’t recommend enough to any young expiring promoters out there to just go for it, anything is possible if you have the vision and passion.”

Meanwhile, Chloe Watson, Community and Events fundraiser at SAMH, shared her appreciation for Platform 18's support.

She added: “We're delighted that Platform 18 has chosen to support SAMH. Music is a great way to connect with others and break down the stigma around mental health.

"From everyone at SAMH, a huge thank you to everyone involved for helping us be here for people who need us.”

Tickets are still available, and begin at £40 per person - they can be found here.
