A River City star has dished out high praise to a Glasgow restaurant after enjoying the ‘class scran’ they served up.
Actor Stephen Purdon, who has played Bob O’Hara in the popular soap for over 20 years, ate at Meat Joint Scottish Steakhouse in the city centre. He posted a snap to his Instagram account of the meal, labelling the food ‘class’.
It comes just days after Stephen posted to his Twitter account, telling fans of a new project. He wrote: “Having the first thing I’ve ever written read out loud was a truly nerve wracking experience, but one that was made easier by this cracking multi talented bunch.

The details of the new project are unclear, though Stephen already runs a popular podcast with Scottish wrestler Grado. A pint and two shots is described by the hosts as a "daft look at the whole of Scottish football".
As for Meat Joint, Stephen definitely isn’t the only one who has been enjoying the steakhouse of late. With a perfect five star rating on TripAdvisor, the eatery sits at number one out of 1,666 restaurants in Glasgow.
Previously occupied by Malaga Tapas, the eatery opened early this year to rave reviews. Announcing the new opening in February on social media, the team behind Meat Joint said: "We are a family run Scottish Steakhouse and fine dining experience, with locally sourced produce and meat."
