Glasgow's new toddler football classes spearheaded by teacher and award-winning lawyer

Children from as young as 18-months-old will soon be able to kick a football and potentially become the next Bobby Lennox or Ally McCoist as Tots United bring their toddler football classes to Glasgow.

The grassroots company launched last year and already has branches in Renfrew and Erskine but it's now bringing their fun and energetic football classes for your little ones to Scotland Street.

Toddlers from 18-months-old up to five-year-old children will be able to take part in the classes which cost £7.50 per session - which could kickstart their footballing career.

There'll be between four and six coaches in each class to ensure every child is getting the best out of the session and reaching their full potential - scoring goals along the way.

It was founded by friends Yousif Ahmed and Ajay Singh who are both ex-professional youth footballers who've played and coached various teams in Scotland, the wider UK, US and Dubai.

CEO Yousif is also an award-winning international lawyer while Ajay works as a P.E teacher.

Yousif, who was born in the city centre but now lives in Renfrewshire, told Glasgow Live: "We thought our classes needed to be full of energy so we have bubbly and lively coaches.

"Young children will develop a whole host of skills including movements, numeracy, colour identification, communication, teamwork and social skills.

"It will instil confidence, self-esteem and positive engagement and happiness in them.

"They might be shy and reserved when they come but in the space of three weeks or so, it’s a remarkable turn. They are running about having fun, smiling and laughing.

"That transformation is incredible to see and very heartening for their parents and us."

He added: "We are super excited about bringing it to Glasgow and are expecting a lot of demand for our classes.

"We’ve created something quite amazing and the support has blown us away."

Ajay added: "Yousif and I have links with various football clubs so when the kids have progressed through Tots United there is a potential pathway for them to progress further and continue their development with football clubs that we can introduce them to.

“To complement this player pathway, we also offer specialist High Performance 1:1 Personal Coaching - this program is specially suited to those who wish to gain an edge and break into professional youth football or excel in that level if they're already there.

"This is a special program which we can offer to youngsters showing talent and promise and very much ties in with our football pathways for talented young footballers coming through Tots United.”

Parent's wishing to enrol their children into the classes should get in touch with Tots United where they'll be sent a booking link via email. Bookings must be made a month in advance for the classes which run on Saturday's from 10am to 12pm.

The first class is taking place today Saturday, February 11, at Super Soccer, in Scotland Street, Glasgow.
