Glasgow's new brasserie and cocktail house to replace Grill On The Corner

Glasgow is set for a new brasserie and cocktail house, replacing the former Grill On The Corner in an iconic city centre building.

Bothwell House will soon arrive, promising a modern and comfortable dining experience alongside an imaginative cocktail-led bar in the heart of the city centre.

Today, artist impressions have emerged of what the classically-styled Bothwell Street building will look like - and it’s set to impress.

Previous head bartender at renowned Glasgow cocktail bar Blue Dog John Russell will be Bothwell House's leading mixologist, while contemporary Scottish dining with a Mediterranean twist will be served up from the kitchen led by Gary Duncan.

It's hoped the new food and drink venue will open before the end of August.

The team behind Bothwell House announced today: "Raising the stakes for memorable days and nights out, the new multi-room stylish venue will also play host to an exciting programme of chic brunch events and live entertainment in their destination bar.

"Leading mixologist, John Russell - previously head bartender at Blue Dog, will deliver an inventive menu of modern and classic cocktails, craft beers and Scottish artisan brands from their destination bar.

"Meanwhile, contemporary Scottish dining with a Mediterranean twist will be on the all-day menu from the kitchen brigade led by Gary Duncan. With a spacious capacity of 300, Bothwell House will be perfect for those intimate date nights, private parties or larger family affairs, with a menu that will offer something for everyone.

"Ahead of its opening, the venue is undergoing a complete transformation and a host of local talented artists are creating artwork on the walls that pay homage to the building’s heritage and location.

"Bothwell House will also be home to stunning Instagrammable features and hopes to open in late August following their refurbishment. The venue is currently looking to recruit positions of all levels.

Jenny Barlow, general manager from Bothwell House, said: "Our first Scottish location for our stand-alone House brand and what a site! We can’t wait to breathe life into this iconic location and liven up your days and nights out.

"Watch this space as we continue to bring our vision to Glasgow’s city centre."
