Glasgow's Lorraine Kelly makes last minute show change as she loses voice on air

Lorraine Kelly was forced to make more last minute changes to her show this morning (March 16) after the television presenter had issues with her voice.

The Glasgow-born journalist teased what was to come on her self-named show after 9am with Good Morning Britain (GMB) hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway.

Kate explained to those watching at home that she would be back soon saying: "So Lorraine is here at 9am, but if you follow our Twitter you will know that there are issues going on."

The screen cut to Lorraine so she could give a preview of what was to come, but they were met by her holding up a sign instead.

The Scots host's sign read: "I've lost my voice. Hilary can you take over?"

Kate asked: "Hilary are you there?" with the screen cutting to him.

He then replied: "I am. And while we help Lorraine get her voice back I can tell you what she's got coming up," as he introduced the show.

However GMB host Ben couldn't help making a joke out of his friend as he put on a croaky voice and said: "We can help you."

As Kate erupted into laughter, Ben added: "Have you been shouting at the Chancellor, is that what it is?" Lorraine nodded in agreement with a huge grin on her face.

Kate jokingly said: "I don't like the idea that female presenters are reduced to writing things on cards. We will be silenced Lorraine!"

Lorraine held up a second sign, which read: "See you at 9am," with Ben once again jokingly adding: "It's going to be a thoroughly entertaining hour with Lorraine and no voice."

Lorraine later took to Twitter writing: "HELP! I’ve lost my voice - any cures that have worked for you (and yes - well aware some might say me not able to talk can only be a blessing)."

And many people started to suggest their best remedies with one saying: "The old lemon and ginger and speak quietly if you have to... get well soon."

Another suggested: "Mix a Lemsip with a nip of Highland Park and a spoon of honey local to where you are staying - top with hot water and you’re away."

And it seems she loved it with her quote tweeting the latter adding: "Best one so far Ross!!"
