The team behind Tabac and La Fiorentina are set to transform an iconic building in the Merchant City next month, with the launch of a new cocktail lounge and restaurant.
Entrepreneur Marco Lazzurri is said to be leading the project to create the new venue at Hutchesons’ Hall on Ingram Street at the site of the former Hutchesons’ restaurant, which closed during lockdown.
The as-of-yet-unnamed venture will take over two floors inside the building with a cocktail bar and lounge on the ground floor and a chic restaurant on the first.
The team hope to have the exciting new site up and running by the end of March.

Owned by the National Trust for Scotland, the iconic building has been both a hospital and library before being transformed into a restaurant in 2014.
Last year, we reported the fact that there were fears over the building and the fact the A-listed landmark had been blighted by buddleia, an invasive shrub, since the Hutcheson's City Grill restaurant was closed by owners James and Louise Rusk of Rusk & Rusk in 2021.
Thankfully, it now looks like this magnificent building will once again be given a new lease of life.
