A “HUGE” ceilidh dance in honour of Scotland's national bard has been rescheduled after being cancelled due to Storm Eowyn.
The event was part of celebrations to mark Glasgow's 850th anniversary and was to be held in partnership with Celtic Connections.
Dancers were expected to gather on Sauchiehall Street, which means "willow meadow" to reflect its past as a moorland lined with willow trees, on Burns Night on Saturday, January 25 and perform a Strip the Willow.
But it was cancelled after the Met Office issued a red weather alert for central Scotland due to Storm Eowyn, which caused widespread disruption across the country.
Now, it has been rescheduled for Saturday February 15, from 2pm to 3pm.
The dance will run down the newly reopened pedestrian area outside Edward House, 199 Sauchiehall Street.
The event, led by Highland dancers Caragh MacKinnon and Maria Monk and pipers from The National Piping Centre, invites everyone to join in and celebrate the history of this iconic street through music and dance.
“Stop by Edward House at 199 Sauchiehall Street and share your memories of Sauchiehall Street with the project team,” organisers said.
“You can also share your stories by joining the Facebook group - Sauchiehall Street: Culture and Heritage District.”
