A "huge" ceilidh dance in honour of Scotland's national bard has been postponed due to Storm Eowyn.
The event was part of celebrations to mark Glasgow's 850th anniversary and was to be held in partnership with Celtic Connections.
Dancers were expected to gather on Sauchiehall Street, which means "willow meadow" to reflect its past as a moorland lined with willow trees, on Saturday, January 25 and perform a Strip the Willow.
It was to be MC’d by Scottish actor Andrew William Agnew who is best-known for his role as PC Plum in Balamory.
However, due to the storm, the Met Office has issued a red weather alert for central Scotland and Police Scotland have urged Scots, "do not travel".
It comes after Celtic Connections announced all performances on Friday, January 24, were postponed.
A spokesperson for Celtic Connections said: “All Celtic Connections performances on Friday 24 January are postponed due to the red weather warning and 'do not travel' advice issued because of Storm Eowyn.
"As it stands, we expect venues to re-open and for all shows to go ahead on Saturday 25 January. We will be in touch as soon as we can with more details for ticket holders for Friday’s shows.”
