Glasgow River Clyde rescue as man plucked to safety from freezing water

A man pulled from the River Clyde this morning is recovering in hospital.

Emergency services raced to the Broomielaw in Glasgow at 9.30am amid reports of a man in the water.

Police and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were at the scene and the man was brought to safety, the Daily Record reports.

He has been taken to hospital and it is not know how badly he has been injured.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of concern for a man in the River Clyde off the Broomielaw in Glasgow around 9.30am on Sunday, 20 February.

"The man has been recovered safely with the assistance of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and taken to hospital."
