Glasgow restaurant owner to give away food and gifts for the homeless on Christmas Day

A kind-hearted restaurant owner in the city centre is hoping to help the Homeless on Christmas Day by offering food and gifts of clothing to those who need it.

Muhammad Sultan, who runs the ever-popular Charcoals Indian restaurant on the Trongate, and his team have been helping those in need for years and was recently recognised for his charity work with a special award.

Each week, he gives out free food between the hours of 3 and 4 pm on Mondays and Tuesdays to homeless people in Glasgow from the restaurant.

Now he's hoping to help out those he can on Christmas Day by giving out gifts as well as meals.

And Muhammad, who also goes out of his way to offer much-needed items such as gloves, hats, and sleeping bags to the homeless when he can, also spends a month in the city of Lahore working with 18-20 of his family and friends to help feed over a thousand people with free food packages and a special cookout.

Speaking about the day, Muhammad said: "Everyone deserves to celebrate and enjoy Christmas, so we are here for homeless people as they are our family.

"We will be giving out free food and some gifts to people who need it on Christmas day."
