Glasgow residents left without broadband after bus reverses into electricity box

Glasgow residents have been left without broadband for over 24 hours due to a bus crash.

A school bus reversed into a Virgin Media cabinet on Scalloway Road in Gartcosh on Thursday morning causing an outage for dozens of locals.

Broadband engineers have been working 'round the clock' to restore service to those affected.

Due to the damage caused by the bus, Virgin said they've had to replace the cabinet and customer connections.

Engineers worked into Thursday evening to get the service back up and running before returning to the site on Friday morning.

A Virgin Media spokesperson said: “We’re working hard to restore service for a very small number of customers in the Gartcosh area following significant damage to one of our cabinets in a suspected road traffic accident.”

“Engineers have been working around the clock to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
