Glasgow property: Inside the home just outside the city on the market for £650,000

An "attractive" five-bedroom property just outside of Glasgow has gone on the market for offers of £650,000.

Lochside is located near the town of Milngavie, approximately 20 minutes out of the centre of Glasgow. It is situated close to the shores of Bardowie Loch in a "delightful rural setting".

The small hamlet of Bardowie is a conservation village, with the loch and a castle dating back to 1566 being the main attractions. The former is a "wonderful facility to have on the doorstep" and includes a dinghy sailing club which forms part of the Clyde Cruising Club.

The listing states: "Lochside is an attractive detached family home that was constructed in 1992 as part of an exclusive courtyard development totalling three properties by Bardowie Castle. The property was finished to a very high standard throughout, with almost 4,110 sq ft of living space, ideal for entertaining and everyday family living.

"Lochside has a design reminiscent of the Georgian period, finished in stone beneath a pitched slate roof. In 2021, whilst vacant, the property experienced a burst water pipe, causing damage to both parts of the ground and first floors of the property.

"A specialist firm was employed to remove the affected areas, including removal of some floor areas as well as the units in the kitchen and utility room. The property does require investment including internal redecoration, some new flooring and installation of a new kitchen and utility room."

It continues: "The property is accessed off an attractive shared tree-lined driveway. Planning consent has been granted to convert the existing garage to create a larger drawing room with gym and study.

"The consent also includes to extend out from the eastern gable to replace the existing conservatory to create a garden room with roof terrace above. In addition the consent would include increasing the ceiling height in two of the upstairs bedrooms, together with replacement of all windows."

Looking inside the property, the ground floor is comprised of a reception hall, a WC, a drawing room with open fireplace, a dining room, a utility room, a dining kitchen with sitting room, and a conservatory.

Moving upstairs, there is a landing, a principal bedroom with en suite shower room and dressing room, and four further double bedrooms (two of which are en-suite. There is also a family bathroom, with a sauna and a separate shower.
