A Fatal Accident Inquiry is to be held after a prisoner died at HMP Barlinnie last week.
Alexander Jamieson, 59, passed away at the prison in Glasgow's east end on Sunday, August 21.
He was sentenced to four years behind bars at Glasgow Sheriff Court in 2021 after being convicted of assault and sexual assault. Jamieson pounced on a woman on various occasions at a property in Kirkintilloch on November 29, 2018.

The Scottish Prison Service has advised Police Scotland about the death and the matter has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
A statement from the Scottish Prison Service said: "Alexander Jamieson, 59, a prisoner from HMP Barlinnie has died on 21 August 2022. He was sentenced at Glasgow & Strathkelvin Sheriff Court in 2021.
"Police Scotland have been advised and the matter reported to the Procurator Fiscal. A Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held in due course."
