Glasgow prisoner death probe after hammer attack brute dies in jail

A Fatal Accident Inquiry is to be held after a prisoner died at HMP Low Moss.

Kenneth Wilson, 57, passed away at the prison in the Bishopbriggs area on Saturday, August 13.

Wilson, who was subject to an Order for Lifelong Restriction, was sentenced at Edinburgh High Court in January of 2018 for attacking a woman with a hammer.

The Scottish Prison Service has advised Police Scotland about the death and the matter has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

A statement from the Scottish Prison Service said: "Kenneth Wilson, 57, a prisoner from HMP Low Moss has died on 13 August 2022. He was sentenced at Edinburgh High Court in 2018.

"Police Scotland have been advised and the matter reported to the Procurator Fiscal. A Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held in due course.
