The incident happened on Monday, October 24, on Main Street in the Baillieston area of the city, leaving the woman uninjured, but shaken.

At around 2.05pm, a 53-year-old woman was approached by a man who entered into a struggle with the woman before stealing her purse and making off with it and all of its contents.

The man is described as being white, approximately 5ft 5in or 5ft 6in tall and of slim build. He was wearing a grey puffa jacket, a black tracksuit with white stripes and dark coloured footwear.

Detective Sergeant Willie Downie of Shettleston Police Station said: “Our enquiries so far suggest this man had been in the area for some time before the robbery and we would be keen to speak to anyone who believes they may have seen him to get in touch.
