Police in Glasgow have launched an investigation after football thugs clashed outside Hampden early this morning.
The shocking scenes unfolded shortly after 9am as the Old Firm prepared to meet for the League Cup final at the national stadium this afternoon.
Scores of yobs dressed in black, many wearing balaclavas faced off as shocked residents in nearby homes looked on as scuffles broke out and they chased each other, tossing objects as they went.

Only a handful of police were in the area at the time, and battled to contain the violence.
In a statement released this afternoon, a spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed: "Enquiries are ongoing following a disturbance involving a large group outside Hampden Park."
Meanwhile tens of thousands of well behaved fans are at Hampden to watch Rangers and Celtic go head to head, with both clubs boasting long unbeaten runs. Michael Beale is yet to taste defeat as Rangers boss but Ange Postecoglou and Celtic have matched them stride for stride to maintain their own streak without a loss.
