Glasgow police hunt BMW fire thug after motor bursts into flames on city street

Police have launched an investigation after a BMW was torched on a Glasgow street

Emergency services were called to Luing Road in Craigton at shortly before 10pm last night as flames leapt from the motor.

Pictures from the scene show the dark coloured car well alight with the full extent of the damage clear after the blaze was put out.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.50pm on Tuesday, June 7 emergency services were called to a report of a car on fire on Luing Road in Glasgow.

"No one was injured.

"The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing."

It's the third BMW in as many days to be set alight Glasgow and Lanarkshire, although there is no suggestion they incidents are linked.

And a spokesman for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service added: "Operations Control mobilised one appliance to the scene to extinguish the fire and make the area safe.

"There were no reported casualties."
