A Glasgow petition has been launched to 'release Batgirl' after the movie was scrapped by Warner Bros.
The superhero flick - the first movie to be filmed entirely here in the city - was scheduled for a theatrical release late next year, but was shelved after receiving poor reviews in test screenings according to US media reports.
The decision to bin the release, even though the film has already completed shooting, sparked widespread anger and frustration among locals, with many complaining that city businesses and residents were inconvenienced 'for no reason'.

Now one local, Alistair Neil, has taken it upon himself to create a petition to try and help convince Warner Bros to perform a U-turn and release the movie.
Alistair's daughter Isla hit the headlines after channelling her favourite heroine to get a glimpse of the Batgirl movie set in Trongate - and even got to meet actress Leslie Grace and director's Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah after news of her set visits reached them.
His petition reads: 'Lots of people put their heart & soul into this movie, and for it to be taken away from them and not to be seen is an insult to all involved , I saw first hand some scenes being filmed the cast and crew worked so hard on it #ReleaseBatgirl.'
So far over 800 people have signed the petition. You can sign it here.
