An elderly woman has been left terrified and shaken up after being attacked by a dog in Drumchapel.
Anne Mckeller was on her way to the local bus stop on September 2 when she says the Pitbull type dog jumped over a fence and began attacking her on Drumry Road East. The 71-year-old, who uses a walking frame due to previously suffering a stroke, suffered lacerations to her arm and elbow.
Anne, who has lived in the area for around 60 years, says the owner ignored her cries for help while neighbours looked on in horror. The dog was eventually pulled off the pensioner and she was taken inside a nearby home where her daughter was called.

Anne told Glasgow Live: "I was walking to the bus stop and had taken a shortcut. Since I had a stroke, I'm not able to walk as well so this is the easier option and means I don't have to walk down any steps.
"I heard a dog barking then all of a sudden it jumped over the fence. It was jumping up and down so initially I thought it was playing but then it started showing its teeth and biting my leg.
"It was standing on its back legs and came up to about shoulder height. It was biting at my legs and arms. I was in a state of shock.
"I was shouting for the owner to come to get his dog and he shouted back 'It's okay'. I had taken my jacket off and had it draped over my arm, when I looked down it was covered in blood. Then I really started shouting.
"I caught the neighbours attention and eventually the owner came and pulled the dog back by its collar.
"I just kept thinking that I had to stay standing and hold onto my walking frame to avoid getting dragged onto the ground where it could bite my face and neck."
The terrified pensioner was taken to the hospital by her daughter where her wounds cleaned up and medics attempted to stitch the skin back together.
Anne is now struggling to walk due to the pressure it puts on her injured arm and has been plagued with thoughts of the incident.
Speaking through tears, she added: "I think it's only hit me today how scary it was. I dread to think what would happen if it was a child - they wouldn't have stood a chance.
"I didn't provoke the dog at all, it just leapt over the fence and went for me. We've been told it's bitten someone else before but as of yet hasn't been removed from the owner."
Following the attack, Anne said she will no longer be taking the shorter route to the bus stop.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers received a report of a woman having been bitten by a dog on Drumry Road East in Drumchapel around 1.30pm on Friday, September 2.
“The 70-year-old woman was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
“A 50-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident, and a report of the circumstances will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
