A fundraiser has been set up to help repair a Glasgow nursery that was set on fire by vandals.
Elmcroft Nursery in the Ruchazie area was targeted on Wednesday night causing so much damage the children have been unable to attend since.
Firefighters raced to the scene after the alarm was raised but the blaze had already damaged the roof of the building and destroyed a large part of the garden.
One of the baby rooms inside the nursery has also been destroyed due to water damage.
The fire is currently being treated as wilful by police and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.
Glasgow City Council is assessing the damage and the nursery remains closed causing havoc for parents who rely on it for their childcare.
A fundraising page has been set up to pay for security cameras to be installed outside and other measures that would keep the nursery safe from vandals in the future.
Leanne Glover, who set up the page alongside parent Letita Webb, said the situation is "frustrating".
She added: "This nursery has been part of the community for years and it's sad to seeing it being vandalised.
"This is the second time this has happened. We just want to help it get back on its feet and get the kids back in as soon as possible.
"They have already missed out on so much due to covid and now they face missing the rest of term and their wee leaving graduations. It's a shame. I don't get why this has happened.
"There is nothing for teenagers to do in the area now, but that's not an excuse to set deliberate fires.

"With the money we have raised so far we hope to buy security cameras for outside the building. We just want to know the place is safe to hopefully prevent this from happening again."
Councillor Christina Cannon, city convener for Education, Communities and Equalities said: “This is mindless vandalism. I know that the culprits will not give any thought to the impact their actions have on the nursery children, families and staff.
“The nursery has had to close for two days due to the fire but we are confident that the nursery will be back open on Monday.
"I would like to thank everyone involved for their efforts to make right the damage.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers received a report of a fire at a nursery on Croftcroighn Road, Glasgow around 8.20pm on Tuesday, 24 May, 2022.
"There were no reports of any injuries. The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
